How YOU Can Help!

If you would like to be able to help us with these quilts, there are a number of ways you can participate!!!

I've had some people offer to send me finished quilts (wow!!!) which of course knocks my socks off!! I've also had several tell me they have some tops just laying around waiting to be quilted...some with backings and some without. Awesome, either way!!

Of course not everyone has something that big to donate, and that is certainly understandable!! I am also hoping to collect a number of 12" finished (12.5" unfinished) quilt blocks that I and my friends will assemble into tops. In case you're not a quilter and you're reading this, I am not asking for plain squares of fabric, but constructed quilt tops. But!! But!!! If you are in possession of some quilting fabric that is of good quality (ask me questions if you don't know what I mean by this!!) that you would like to donate, I will do my best to use it in the framing/sashing of these 12" blocks and/or piece them into backs for the quilts. I cannot stress enough that I respectfully decline polyester and other non-cotton fabrics. Cotton flannel is ok. Please, please, please ask me if you have any questions at ALL about this guideline! Thanks!!!

So now you're wondering...how will you get the items to me that you'd like to donate? Well, I am not prepared to just throw my mailing address out to the world wide web, so post a comment to the blog, which I am set up to get via email, and I will respond. If you are a member of the about.com forum, I'm MishaMichele7 and you could message me through there, too.

If you're up to the task, want to make some blocks, and don't know what exactly to do...what about a house block? Here's just one example of a 12" finished block pattern. You don't need to follow this, it's only one idea of many. I'd just as happily accept a group of 9 patch blocks, but I sure think these houses are cute and would love to be able to include at least one in every sampler I put together. These look fabulous when done scrappy, especially with a sky-like fabric for the background, and green grass (or brick or small florals) for the bar at the bottom which looks like the front yard/walkway :)
